She is dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for students to help them achieve their hopes and dreams. Jackson is humbled by the opportunity to serve the community, families, and students. Jackson states, 'it was truly an honor and a privilege to help open up TLE.' She is now excited to continue that journey by serving as the principal of Timber Lakes Elementary. In 2019, Jackson was named Dean of Instruction for Splendora Junior High, and in 2020 was named the Assistant Principal of Timber Lakes Elementary. As a part of the district instructional team, Jackson was honored to coach and mentor teachers, co-lead the district's Assessment Focus Group, help develop the SISD Instructional Framework, and co-lead a team studying grading systems at the secondary level. For the next three years, she was the Humanities Instructional Specialist serving 6th-12th grade reading/language arts (RLA) and social studies teachers. During that time, she became a teacher mentor and secondary Social Studies Instructional Specialist. Jackson began at Splendora High School, where she taught US History for four years.
Jackson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in December 2000 and her Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M-Commerce in May of 2017. Dawn Jackson has been an educator since 2007 and has served in Splendora ISD since 2013.
